Seve Ballesteros | Priceless Open Moments

By winning The Open in 1979, Seve Ballesteros ushered in a new era and made a new generation of fans fall in love with the game.

Five years later he birdied the 18th at St Andrews and celebrated joyously, in the process denying Tom Watson a sixth Open.

Seve’s famous celebration on the 18th green that day is embedded in Open history and remains a priceless moment to this day.

Our new series of Priceless Open Moments presented by Mastercard celebrate the great moments in Open history.
