William Hill is among a number of sportsbooks posting odds for Woods to win the 2022 Masters, giving him 40-to-1 odds on winning his sixth Masters title in 2022. The obvious question is whether Woods will be able to play a year from now. To remedy those fears, a William Hill spokesman said it will refund any bet on Woods if he does not tee it up next year. Other sportsbooks in the U.S. also have promised the same.
Woods recently returned home to Florida to continue the rehab process after suffering numerous injuries to his right leg. Woods initially had a rod inserted into his tibia to stabilize the fractures, as well as screws and pins inserted into his foot and ankle, according to reporting by Golf Digest’s Daniel Rapaport. Additionally, trauma to the muscle and soft tissue of the leg required a surgical release of the covering of the muscles to relieve pressure due to swelling.
