Cristie Kerr was having a brutal back nine at the ANA Inspiration on Friday—until a miraculous finish.
The 20-time LPGA winner was in contention at the year’s first major until playing a six-hole stretch in six over that put her outside the cut line when she arrived at the 18th hole at Mission Hills Country Club. And she took full advantage of her good fortune. Kerr got up and down for birdie to finish her first 36 holes at one over and get back inside the cut line. Hey, better to be lucky and good.
